Galle (day tour)
Galle (115km/3hrs south of Colombo) is known for its 17th century Dutch fort and is probably Sri Lanka's finest colonial town. The old part of town, easily explored on foot is famous for lace-making, ebony-carving and gem-polishing. Kandy (2 day tour) Kandy, set in the hills around an artificial lake 115km east of Colombo, is probably the most charming city in Sri Lanka. Enroute you will visit the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage to see elephants bathing in the river at Pinnawela and Peradeniya Botantical Gardens, 60 hectares, making this the largest botanic garden in Sri Lanka . Yala National Park (2 day tour) Yala National Park, also known as Ruhunu National Park, is well recognised as one of the best parks in the world to observe and photograph leopards. There are good numbers of Asian Elephants, Crocodile, Wild Boar, Water Buffalo and Grey Langurs amongst other large animals. Your best chance to see a leopard is generally early in the morning and then again at dusk. Dambulla, Polonnaruwa, Sigiriya, Kandy (2 day tour) Visit the Dambulla Cave Temple (1B.C), a sacred pilgrimage site for 22 centuries, this cave monastery, with its five sanctuaries, is the largest, best-preserved cave-temple complex in Sri Lanka. After breakfast climb the Sigiriya rock fortress before going on to Kandy and the Tooth Relic Temple follwed by an evening cultural show. Polonnaruwa, Sri Lankas medieval capital is a well-preserved city of ancient dagobas, moonstones, beautiful parks, massive buildings and stunningly beautiful statues. Sigiriya, The Lion Mountain or the Rock Fortress of Sri Lanka dates back to 477 to 295 AD 08 day round tour (07 Nights) Start the tour with Habarana.
